As laranjeiras salvam-se, havendo vigilância e percorrendo-as mensalmente, como tem feito o sr. [J.J. d’Azevedo Jr]\r\nComo estou convencido que a lágrima é devida à acidez do terreno, que é impossível deixar de havê-la onde se encontram constantemente as parasitas criptogâmicas no tronco das árvores e no solo debaixo delas, e como os alcalis neutralizam a acidez é provável que se consiga um óptimo resultado misturando no terreno debaixo da laranjeira a cinza da madeira, e sempre que possa ser a de árvores de espinho.
