Felizmente, ainda não foram atacadas as begónias de ar livre. Ignora-se ainda o melhor remédio contra o novo mal. Ensaiaram-se as fumigações sulfurosas e o tabaco, mas sem o menor êxito. Os horticultores belgas, a ver se fazem desaparecer o flagelo, mas dele que aparecem vestígios em qualquer begónias, queimam-nas imediatamente. Há estufas em que tiveram de ser inutilizadas todas as begónias.
